Can You Get A Four Season Suit Fabric?

Can You Get A Four Season Suit Fabric?

Everybody wants an all your round suit, a four season suit fabric that will not only look good but be comfortable enough to wear season in season out. Is that too much to ask for?

Can we make that happen, or does the four season suit fabric already exist?

We have looked into this quite rigorously over the years and to answer the question, it is a blunt no. There is no perfect four season suit fabric that will keep you comfortable in every season every hour of the day.

Sure there are many great, cotton and wool blends out there. Also the polyester and wool blend fabrics are available, however we urge people to steer clear of these. Since polyester is not the nicest of the fabrics to wear and can be too warm at times where it doesn’t allow for much breathability. Which essentially a great suit should have.

What is the solution though, or at least the best alternative to a four season suit fabric?

We like to be honest with our customers and clients and inform them of all the best suited fabrics for each of the seasons, for example cotton or linen is best during the summer months and then wool is best in suits for the winter months. Although to give a better answer for which suit fabric will be best for most seasons where the suit can be warn most of the year. We recommend going for a wool/cotton blend suit.

A suit made with wool will keep you warm during the winter, however also allows great breathability. Of course during some really hot summer days taking the jacket off is the best option. However having that cotton blend in the fabric will allow the suit to be that fraction lighter and won’t make the suit so unbearably warm that you will be profusely sweating in it.

The wool/cotton blend is a popular type of fabric and the best option for a four seasons suit fabric. However, when getting a wool/cotton suit designed, be sure to check with your tailor that it hasn’t got too much cotton or on the other hand too much wool. You want to ensure it will sit well on your body and also be breathable enough during the summer months whilst warm enough throughout the winter.

I hope I was able to shed some light on the perfect four season suit fabric that hasn’t miraculously been designed. Whilst also providing some information on your alternatives and best option until that extraordinary four season suit fabric starts hitting the market.
